The Extractor was designed to provide firefighters with an economical personal escape device that improves one's ability to easily trasition from the IDLH (Immediately Dangerous to Life and Health) through the point of exit.

For maximum performance, the device was designed to work with the OFE Rope Product #: RP-100 (7.5mm NFPA 1983:2006 certified rope).

• Rub rails are designed to prevent the rope from being pinched against the device and a hard surface.
• D-hole is design to lock into a carrying bag to prevent accidental deployment and can be used to add extra friction.
• Carabiner attachment is extra big for ease of attachment with gloved hands and is off set 90 degrees to achieve a low profile when it is pre-attached to a harness.
• Rope feed notch is design to allow the rope to play through the device even though it maybe positioned on a hard surface such as a window sill.
• Lock off tail is designed to trap the free section of the rope between the anchor end of the rope and the device, this way a person can lock off and use both hands.
• Stitch holes are arranged to mimic a figure eight wrap that cannot be rigged wrong or slipped out of position.
• The descender of is symmetrical so it can be rigged to be used with a left or right hand rope brake.

The firefighting hood is constructed of a fire resistant material and configured to be extendible over the head of the individual. The hood has a face opening for exposing the individual's face to the breathing chamber of the face mask. The face opening is defined by an annular edge of the hood. A support frame is secured adjacent the annular edge to increase the rigidity of the annular edge of the hood. The annular edge of the hood and the support frame are disposed in the annular recess of the face mask.
