Skunk Hood™

The Skunk Hood™ is designed to provide burn protection without compounding the problems associated with encapsulation. The Skunk stripe provides 30% more burn protection than the left, right, and throat sections of the hood. The purpose of the increased burn protection of the stripe is to protect the scalp and nape. Increasing the burn protection of the scalp helps reduce heat stress by insulating the firefighter from a high-heat environment. Increasing the burn protection of the nape helps to prevent those burns sustained from falling embers.
